In addition to traditional CNC milling machines that are driven by standard 3 axis G Code, the Micronexx software can drive factory automation robots with 6 and more degrees of freedom to perform the functions of machine tending, off bearing and materials handling. Fed from the exact same flexible software model of the product that was used to generated customer approved drawings, the robotics controllers can be coordinated for automatic change over to new production, instantly as new orders hit the floor.
We have a installed applications where one industrial robot is performing off loading and return on 3 different machines, eliminating manual labor and error entirely from the process, with a very low cost of entry. Typically this degree of automation is reserved for auto manufactures and very high volume production lines where the high costs can be amortized over a large number of units. But because of the parametric, model-driven product database, small production runs, of as little as one piece, can take advantage of extremely high degrees of customization.
